I feel certain this is a bug, somehow, but I keep getting the Dampire as my first enemy every single time I try, and it's highly annoying because he simply outheals my ability to deal damage, and if he's not healing, he's preventing me from attacking!

More of an auto-battler than anything else, no real decisions to make. Hope your dice roll well cause if they don't you just lose!
